Gosh, Angie, just how old are you?

The rest of the country just doesn't understand...the was is recent history here. :-))

Funny story I related at the convention in Chatt. The SE has one chance for a multi-day pioneer ride over a historic trail when General Sherman's grandson or nephew or some kin decided to ride Sherman's route to the sea on horseback with some friends...for the fun of it. He started in Chattanooga, rode to LaFayette, GA (nearest town to Longstreet's) then stopped for lunch at a diner. The woman who owned the diner heard who they were and what they were dong. Trouble was she was old enough that she remembered the first time a Sherman had come through and burned their family home. She came out with a skillet and beat the crap out of him. He decided to abandon the trip. Good thing. Folks in Atlanta probably would have set him on fire.

Angie
