[RC] Rude Riders are not the Majority - k s swigart

Don Huston said:

...I came upon a woman standing by a muddy cattle
trough looking up the side of the mountain. Her clothes
were muddy, helmet visor crunched and when she turned
to tell me what happened she was crying. It all came
rushing out, horse spooked, fell in the mud, jumped up
and bolted up the mountain out of sight, her 3 buddies
stayed about 5 minutes then rode off to finish the ride,
she had been alone for 20 minutes, she knew her beloved
horse would never be found, she didn't know what to do.....

This story makes me wonder. Why, if she knew the color of her horse and
its tack, the direction it had taken, and enough to correct Don when he
was looking in the wrong place, wasn't she looking for her own horse
rather than sitting next to a water trough convinced that her horse
would never be found??? Maybe the five riders that were with her gave
up when they figured she wasn't all that interested in finding her horse
if she weren't looking for it herself as well.

Anyway I checked her horse, he was fine, the lady was
ecstatic, saying how she wanted to hurry up and catch
her friends (the same ones that left her and her horse to
die....go figure) so off she went and I never saw her again.

I have changed my mind. It would appear that rude riders ARE the
majority here. There were the five that rode off to leave this lady
alone on the ground, and herself, who rode off and left the one person
who had taken the time and effort to stop and help (that 6:1
rude:unrude). Hmmmm...
