[RC] Getting Ready For 50's - Riders & Reserve ! - Vchorsegal

Why is it called "reserve" on our horses & "fat" on us ?  I agree with Dawn, a few less pounds helps the rider.  I like to hike both up & down during parts of my conditioning rides.  I don't mind the Exercise bike if there is an engaging show on TV or hand held Scrabble to get my mind off the pain on off days!  During the rides ( usually 50s ) i find it very helpful to get off to stretch my legs, and hike most of the down hills & some of the up hills.  I find I have less muscle soreness after the ride this way.  It helps to drink an electrolyte drink for people to balance out your needs also !  Happy Trails !  - Heidi Helly
