[RC] JD's ride - spiritwood@xxxxxxxxxHi All, Well JD put on a super ride this year. Weather was around 70 in the day, sunny and with a slight breeze, perfect November weather! Sorry I don't have all the details but the most exciting thing was the 3 way race for the winner of the 50. It was won by Allison Baily on her late husband Mike's super horse. They went on to get a very well deserved BC and also the Shelby Cook award. We all know that Mike is up there giving his wife and horse the big thumbs up for a job well done! Since my horse is out for the season with a bruised hoof from the NC incident at the start, I rode our pinto mare Rave. She has not done any rides since her tie up at the OD in June, can you say it took 97 LITERS of fluids to get her out of danger! Well, Rave rode like the pro she is and had a wonderful time and no problems. Dr. Lynn Johnson who was vetting the ride and had also treated her at the OD was sweating bullets eveytime she saw us. She was beyond thrilled with Rave's performance at JD's. Mary Howell went along as crew for a change and crewed for both myself and my daughter Jennifer who rode Mary's horse Shiloh on her last ride as a junior, and her first 100. With super sponsers like Pat Oliva and Skip Kemmerer how could they fail? The didn't, they finished in 9th, 10th and 11th place. Great team, super crew, wonderful weekend for all. I'm sorry(DIMR) I don't remember the name of the tall guy who won the 100 on a good gray horse, but he went on to get BC too so kudos to them both.
