RE: [RC] 25 miles or 50? - Bob Morris

Chelsea:

The essentials that you need are ; the horse, you to ride
it, and the attitude that you will have fun.

Anything else is just superfluous and icing on the cake. The
only way you will ever do a fifty will be to sign up for it
and just do it.

Subject: [RC] 25 miles or 50?

Hi, it's me again! Thanks for all the help with my last
question, now I've got another. I've been trying to figure
out whether to do the 25 mile or 50 mile ride at
Wickenburge. How do you decide whether you and your horse
are ready for 50 miles? Also, since it will be my first
endurance ride, should I just stick with 25 miles even if we
are ready for 50 so that we can kind of learn the ropes of
it? I guess I'm kind of getting nervous now that I've
actually decided to do one. How complicated are the vet
checks? I've looked at lists of suggested stuff to bring and
it seems like a hec of a lot! What are the essentials that I
and my horse will need?

Thanks again!
Chelsea
