My 65 gallon Tractor Supply tank fits nicely between the wheel wells and 
front of the bed in a long bed. In a short bed it would not fit behind 
the wheel well and end with a corner right at the hitch and I would not 
be able to get the trailer on the ball and if I did when we turned it 
would damage the tank.

If you normally carry stuff and want to think about a short bed - better 
do some measuring. It might or it might not work.
