Re: [RC] Help with condensation issue in living qrtrs - CTH

Hi Beccy
I am doing my trailer with advice from a guy who does it professionally.
First is do not use the fibre glass insulation. It goes moldy even with vapor barrier
Used the styrofoam. I used spray foam insulation in the small areas. Never spraying into wiring that I may need to get to some day.
I live in Northern Alberta so insulation is a BIG deal.
Then use plywood strips screwed into your supports. about 4 inches by 20"
This is what you can put your paneling onto and shelves ect.
Oh the floor is done first.
3/4" plywood put down with stainless steel screws (aluminum trailer) in 8 inch squares. An adhesive was placed under the boards first.
Spray insulaton was done under the entire trailer 3 inches to insulate the floor and I had the ceiling in the horse part sprayed and painted white. Keeps the horse area warmer or cooler.
Hope this helps

Subject: [RC] Help with condensation issue in living qrtrs

Can anyone tell me if a vapor barrier between the insulation and the panelling is the best way to go in order to prevent damage from condensation? Or, maybe the best and first question should be, "How does one get rid of the condensation problem?" Thanks, Beccy
