[RC] Over ridden? - k s swigart

From: trailrite@xxxxxxx
A lot of people, as usual have too strong options with very little experience about FEI and 100 mile rides in general.  I think like everything else, you need to have some experience before you express yourself.  After reading some of these options I looked up their ride history.  One rider that seems to express themselves so much has started 10 100's and only completed 3 and none of these rides were FEI rides.  I would say that's not a good enough record to be telling a lot of other riders and organizations to be changing there [sic] ways at this point.

As the somebody in question who has started 10 and only completed 3 (two of which were 2-day hundreds so don't really count), I can speak absolutely authoritatively from personal experience about the causes of non-completion.  I know, without a doubt, that the reasons for non-completion can be laid entirely at my feet and were caused entirely by mistakes on my part.

Who better than somebody who has tried and failed many times to speak about the reasons for failure?  I have a great deal of first hand experience with it :).

Any rock with MY name on it is one that I pointed my horse at, or one that I tried to tell my horse to go around and I hadn't trained it properly to listen to me.
