[RC] Being Prepared - Trailering Alone - Karen Casemier

Last season, I didn't make it to any rides due to scheduling issues with my husband's research project. I have a very nice young horse that I want to get to some rides next season, and instead of waiting on his availability, I'm just going to head to the rides myself. I've asked him to teach me how to change both the truck and trailer tires in the event of a flat - I know I'll feel more comfortable on the road by myself if I know how to do this. I'm also looking into the US Rider insurance.

What other things do I need to know in order to be prepared for trailering alone? What types of tools do most of you keep in the truck/trailer?

Also, while I have a buddy with a nice living quarters trailer, I don't want to be dependent on her. We have a small backpacking tent, but it is a PITA to put up. Any suggestions for a nice little tent that goes up and down easily?
