Re: [RC] AERC convention "stuff to do in after" - Karen Sullivan

Replying to all as might be fun for other too to make the drive (15 to 20 minutes north on Hwy 395) to see the largest BLM holding facility of mustangs in the U.S.; Palomino Valley.  Can't miss it, big sign.
I went there last April, and was pretty impressed at both the condition of the facility (huge pens, good fencing) and all the horses looked in good weight.  Feb. might not be as great (snow/mud on ground); very shaggy horses but still might be interesting.  Mike Meyers, who runs the facility was also very helpful. While there, I ran into two endurance riders picking up a youngter and we got to chat for awhile; they almost taked me into a cute grulla gelding.....I already have a grulla BLM mare and succumed to a lovely palomino filly at the Lakeport adoption.  Anyway, it was a fun outing, I would rather look at horses than strap boards on my feet any day!

Hi All
I need to think about booking my flights.
I am trying to decide the dates.
What is exciting in Reno to do after convention?
One year I met up with Nikki Reynolds and we went riding for a few days.Had a great time.
In Texas Karen and I headed out to a guest ranch for a couple days.
Any ideas other then skiing (throwing myself down a hill with boards on my feet is not my idea of fun)
Thanks
in advance
