Re: [RC] My endurance/buggy horse !!!! - Barbara MoultonIn the early 60's when a big snowstorm with high winds drifted over and closed all the farm roads for the better part of a week, Cotton Riley hitched his mule team to a hay wagon with sleigh rails and picked up all the chidren and brought them to the Richfield, ID school. I taught there from 96-01, my youngest daughter is a 2000 graduate. The picture of the entire student body ( even the townie kids) piled in the wagon was lost when the main part of the school burned in 65. To keep this endurance related I am ordering Joy's two wheel easy entry cart this month- Power pace conditioning for her and a future plan to train Bonnie to drive @ 2 or 3 before saddle training- that's how 1 grandma with 3 grandsons can have fun with everyone- I'll drive young Bonnie while the boys take turns riding Joy where I can keep my eye on things as well. Barbara and Joy who was wonderful in the arena today (hunters shooting up the trail by the river kept us out of the woods)and Bonnie who will learn to follow the cart safely in the pasture-still freaked out by the big trucks - the small existing gravel pit's permit is expiring and they are hauling out dawn to dark it seems- I won't be driving on those roads either- outside of Richfield where my grandsons live there are hundreds of miles of canal bank dirt roads crisscrossing the desert. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Yahoo!
