[RC] Protocol for soft tissue injury - Lucinda Carpe

Several weeks ago there was much discussion on ridecamp and healing soft tissue injuries.
Someone posted the protocol from UC Davis I believe and stated that it had worked for them.
My gelding will be returning home today from San Luis Rey. I was told by the vet last night that his bone scan reveals a suggestion of tendon injury to the flexor tendon ( I believe I have the name correct) They will be conducting one further test this AM by standing him on a small wedge un the front hoof. He said this is the opposite of a flexion test.
Anyway, I would like the protocol which I will follow like a bible.  ha
Also, another individual posted that stall rest after the initial period could also be living in freedom 24/7 with a quiet friend or alone in a large turnout.
My horses injury occured in June/July. He has been left alone except for brief periods of checking to see if he was "better". The last 45 days he was in confinement due to some fencing issues. In two weeks he will have freedom with his old quiet friend on a turn out that is 250X200. I am thinking that he should have at least one year off. I am willing to start that from today as opposed to July. He is 8 1/2 years old.
You may contact me privately with the protocol or your own personal experiences if you wish to keep ridecamp clear.

Lucinda
