[RC] Withers - Barb Peck

Maryanne:
I know your choices are limited in Egypt.
But
You have to determine what the problem is before you can fix it.
Ride with just the under pad, then ride with just the over pas- try to determine
if it's one pad or the other or the combination of the 2.
It's horses with these withers as high as the Andes that pad choice becomes
important.
You may have to cut back the under pad.. (but I know you can't cut a Saare
over pad.).

Any recommendations? Remember, whatever I get, I'm pretty much stuck with. No
way to return stuff from Egypt.

Probably the over pad is a "shaped" pad, contoured - which rises slightly for
the withers,
and the under pad (felt) is not... Some horses withers are high enough, so that
you absolutely have to use contoured pads for the over and under pad.-
and the underpads whether they be felts or a DixieM- will have to be cut back
pretty far (like 4inches) around the withers or they create problems of their
own.
