What about trying an equipedic pad?  They're supposed to help dissipate heat.  I've been using one for the past 4 or 5 months, and my horses seem to like it.  I've also been using a Bearfoot Cheyenne treeless, and both horses love it.  Bear moves even better in it than he did in the Sport Saddle.  The Barefoot doesn't have the side-to-side movement in the back that the Sport Saddle did.
