[RC] re: Ginger's comments - Cindy Collins

I certainly understand about rides being too long or being lost.? I went to a ride that was supposed to be 50 and ended up 65.? However, none of that would affect my conditioning.? I basically condition the same whether I'm riding a 50, a 100 or a multiday.? I work full time and that's all the time I have.? It hasn't been a problem for me and most of the riders I know condition similarly.? I see much worse problems with people over-conditioning horses.? Luckily that's not nearly as prevalent as it used to be...We see horses now days in much better flesh.? This is not to say that there isn't an occasional rider who under conditions, but even a horse with a few extra pounds can be ridden prudently and finish a 50 at the very end of the pack.? The only place I see the "greyhounds" these days are in the photos from international/FEI events where they are running sub 8 hour 100s.??
