Re: [RC] Okay you geniuses - Sky Ranch

Is an image really required for the spammer to know that they "hit" a valid e-mail address?

I get a lot of spam, because I have an internet ad, but none of the filters work -- what happens is that most of the spam still comes through, and the *real* e-mails that I want are filtered out.

if I send you some spam, I stick an image in there - maybe just a pixel wide - that corresponds to your e-mail address. When you open the mail and the image displays, the rotten spammer knows that your e-mail address is active,
