Oh, I agree...but I still maintain that  a smaller percentage of the 
entrants are "racing"--many are starting young horses, rehabing 
injured horses, yada yada--and the racers only have to beat each 
other, not the whole field.  I think they don't HAVE to ride as fast 
to win, so they don't.
