RE: [RC] LD's holdtimes counted & 50's Not in final reported times? - heidi

While that's an understandable mistake when starting out, that isn't what Diane was talking about--and once again, hold times are NOT reported as a part of the riding time of LD rides, unless a RM makes a big mistake.  The ride times are calculated exactly the same way for LDs as they are for endurance distances--elapsed time minus hold times.

That is something I wondered about before, and I'm glad you pointed it out that the fifties do not include hold times.  The LD I rode in had a 40 minute hold.  Of course Being a first timer, I misunderstood everything and ended up not starting my hold for over 30 minutes....yikes... Live an learn.  Thanks for pointing out that the 50's reported times did not include hold times & ld does.  Yet another need for consistancy.
