RE: [RC] Tying to trailer = vanished? :) - heidi

That was my reaction as well, Diane.  For many years, I traveled with a 2-horse Miley, and often did have two horses, since my dad rode with me sometimes.  The horses were perfectly content on opposite sides of the trailer, and the trailer was just the right length that when tied properly (with ends of leads just a few inches off the ground) they could get together behind the trailer to stand side by side without getting their ropes crossed, or they could retreat away from each other if they preferred a bit of privacy.  (Sometimes they opted for the former, more often for the latter, since their buddy was still 'right there' as you point out.)

Our horses moved around just fine tied to the trailer, they drank, they ate, they lay down, and the experienced ones could roll just fine without becoming entangled.

I mean, we are talking horses here, right?  Animals which hear better than
humans, have better olfactory senses than humans, like...  they can catch
the scent/sound of a bear or coyote or mountain lion at well over 1/2 mile
while their riders say asinine things like, "Stop being so silly.  There's
nothing there"... so why would a horse think his buddy had disappeared just
because he was 5 feet away on the other side of a lousy trailer?
