After the last time this issue came up, I started paying attention to  
ride times.  At the first ride of the season this year (Home on the  
Range) the ride times of ALL of the top ten 50's were less than twice  
that of the first 25-mile rider.    They were all going faster.  It  
turned out NOT to be a fluke. It happen again a month later.  And  
then a third time.  I quit paying attention after that.

So who is racing???
