RE: [RC] [RC] Horrible Accident- Long - heidi

Having seen similar tragic scenarios unfold time and time again with portable electric fencing and with other inadequate forms of portable fencing, I would make this warning even stronger--think twice before using electric fencing AT ALL as a turnout for horses away from home for more than just short times when you are right there with them.  Consider VERY strong portable panels or consider tying your horses in some fashion when you are not right there with them.  Not doing so endangers not only your horses' lives but also people's lives, as Raven's terrible story illustrates.

I am sharing this information with you for one simple reason. Should
you decide to use a portable electric corral, please set it up to
ensure the safety of your horses and others in camp.

Make the corral large enough for all horses that it will contain, use
at least two (2) strands of wide visible tape. And most of all...make
sure all the horses GET ALONG!!!
