Re: [RC] Thorowgood saddle - Steven Proe

Hi Dawn: If I were you I would find a local knowledgeable horse person or horsey friend or club that can assist you and or loan you a proper saddle to use until your horse may fit the saddle that you have.

You can also contact the seller and request how much weight your mare may lose after or before being in foal as a possible goal or just useful information.
hope this helps.

If you post the area that you live in on RideCamp, some one may volunteer to assit or refer you.

She is trained english & western. She has been a broodmare for the past 2 yrs. I bought her this year in foal. We are taking riding lessons to get her back in shape/sync aslo so we can learn together. Right now I only have an endurance western saddle which I'm not sure does fit her, it seems small and narrow on her.

Hi Dawn/all:

You have not mentioned if your critter has had any training, if she has not her physcial size and all over body make up will (should) change drasticlly.

My suggestion is to borrow or use what ever saddle and associated tack fit's her now.

I highly recomend the use of a crupper and a breast collar also for many reasons and to check the fit of all tack through out the day and the training ride as there maybe dramatic changes due again to many changing reasons.

Subject: [RC] Thorowgood saddle

Hi everyone. I am new at endurance riding and have been doing a lot of reading on the subject. I have a 10 yr old arab mare. She is a big girl of 15'2 with high withers. I am thinking of purchasing a throwogood endurance saddle and was wondering if anyone has experience with thorowgood saddles and if you could give me some input. Also any info on endurance training & feeding would be greatly appreciated.

Dawn
