[RC] Anyone ride in chaps? - Kristi Schaaf

I've ridden in tights much of the time for the last
decade, but do prefer jeans in a couple instances -
cool/cold weather, mosquito season, and cockleburr
season. BUT, jeans cause a very sore tailbone in my
new saddle (tights don't). That's a bummer, 'cause I
liked riding in the newer type jeans with some stretch
built in. So, I'm pondering what it would be like to
ride in shotgun or english schooling chaps (over
tights) for very many miles. I've never worn a pair of
chaps in my life, and because of my height I would
require a custom pair, so I'm pondering if it would be
a total waste of money for a distance rider to invest
$300-$500 in chaps. What say you all with chaps
knowledge?

Life's a journey, so enjoy the ride (and try not to fall off)
