Lud and I did our courting on horseback, and here we
are...56 years later. I figure that a couple needs to have much in common
and enjoy some of the same activities in order to make a
marriage work well. Upon our first meeting, we went for a ride.
Lud mounted me on his gelding, Detour (who occasionally did). I have often
wondered if that was intentional, just to see how well I could ride.
Anyway, it seems to have worked. We were married four months
later.
Actually, this could be a useful screening tool for potential mates...do
you really want to continue a relationship with someone who finds the smell of
horse apples unpleasant??? :)

never go on a date without changing your shoes first - while the smell
of horse apples may not be offensive to you, your date may not find it
pleasant
