[RC] eating at rides - Lucy Chaplin TrumbullLynne: > Aha! How much of this is about smooth-gaited horses? I > ride the smoothies too and can eat almost anything... For me, it had to do with how likely I was to be trodden on tacking up for the ride. Once I started riding my husband's less hyper-active horse, ride nerves diminished greatly and I was able to eat much better. One thing I found that didn't work - dried cranberries. Seemed like a good idea in principle until I realised I had to sort of lick the handful from my hand to avoid dropping most of them... and then I looked at the state of my filthy hand and decided this was probably a health risk. Food for me was "slithery stuff" and in small, bite sized quantities. Anything that I needed to chew caused a gag reflex. So sliced meats, sliced cheese, Ensure, etc. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Lucy Chaplin Trumbull elsietee AT foothill DOT net Repotted english person in the Sierra foothills, California * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
