Hi Jen. I use both (different cruppers on different saddles). The key for my
critters is what you put on it, as in a halter fuzzy (not the ones withe
velcro, the solid ones) or, a friend of mine made a bunch of great polar
fleece covers. With an easy to slip on cover, it's easy to just toss them
into the wash. No rubs under the tail, no dirty cruppers either.
