I tend to agree. If the saddle is causing white hair - it is causing damage. He might not be sore because he is numb. He might, however, be compensating which over 50 miles will show up as a problem somewhere else.

I'd go with the new saddle if it fits him. You can alway take Advil if it bothers you too much.
