I think that's one thing we simply don't know, Robert. In essence, the horses in this decade are the experimental animals. As new kinds of boots are created, each with its advantages and disadvantages, we'll learn more.
 
That's why i prefer regular horse shoes on my horses that need protection. The shoes are shaped the same as the hoof. ARe not bigger than the hoof and to my eye, change the flight path of the hoof the least.
 
That's strictly MHO.
