[RC] OT Horse Slaughter- mixing issues - Sheila_Larsen

Aren't there two separate issues here, one the morality of slaughtering
horses and two treating animals humanely. I don't have a problem with
slaughtering horses, I do have a very serious problem with improper
transport and improper handling of animals during the killing process.
There seems to have been a serious reform in the cattle slaughter industry
with handling cows quietly prior to slaughter and I am not sure why that
hasn't happened with the horses. I believe that in many states (although I
might be incorrect) horses are not to be transported in cattle trucks. I
think it would be better to ask the state and federal gov. to fund the
enforcement of existing laws and under animal abuse laws.
