I carried them for a while & they really never went over.  Unless they've 
changed them in the last couple years:
They aren't lined, so more of a windbreaker as for warmth.
They have that row of snaps down the middle. Are you really going to snap 
something around your body that is tied to the back of your saddle?
I honestly can't remember if there was a velcro strip that held that snapped 
opening from gapping or not.
Anyway I wasn't impressed as to  it's practicality. Cashel quality has 
always been good. They did change ownership last year, so some of their 
products may have changed.
