[RC] Endurance, CTR - Jeanne DeVico

My comments about CTR are valid and accurate, and are in no way a criticism of anything. I have happily competed in both disciplines very successfully for a number of years. The multi-day CTRs are much different than the 25s and 30s, and are much more useful for assessing a horse's condition. In the east, MOST of the rides are shorter, one-day rides, and the judges are forced to "nit pick" to determine a winner. (That's fine.) When a significant portion of the judging is subjective, when overall appearance counts, which means grooming, when the most important part of the judging is a final trot out, this is the essence of showmanship, and I know all of you easterners who have seen Steve Rojek trot out his horse know exactly what I mean!

I rarely post, and when I do, it amazes me how people can interpret the most innocuous comments and take them personally or use them to criticize.
