[RC] aol spam blocking - Michael Maul

In response to:"it comes back again any time any aol.com user presses the spam button to a ridecamp post. "

Actually real spam and/or virus email does sometimes come with a ridecamp sending address. Spammers and virus generators use any address that's found on a machine to spoof where it comes from. The more times an address is found on a machine, the more likely it is to be used for spoofing.

The AERC domains aerc.org and doublejoy.com are used for alerts on point standings changing, ride results posted, new rides, a * with a ride result sent to members, and general messages to all members.

Some spammer has been sending stock "tips" using the aerc.org domain as where it comes from. I get all the bounces. There's nothing I can do about it but hope it goes away eventually. It has already put aerc.org and doublejoy.com on several blacklists as spammers.

Mike
