[RC] Shore to Shore - Roxi Anderson

I took the advice of Jeannie Miller and headed to Michigan to do the Shore to Shore ride even though I didn't have a driver.  I was told by ride manager Wayne not to  worry that my rig will be moved each day, so,  off to Michigan my daughter and I went.  All I can say is what an adventure!  I still can't get over how smoothly everything was ran.  Rick Nelson took on the chore of moving my rig, kid's included, each day.  Lucky me!!  As this meant my trailer was at each vet check along with my daughter as crew!  He even met me on the road for watering.  The amazing part of this is that he was also working the ride.  I had so much fun!  I got to ride with so many great people!!!  Biggest lesson learned....ride with someone that knows the trail!!!!!  It's no fun being lost!  This ride really is a ride to do if you have ever considered a multi-day.  I just can't say enough about the kindness of everyone.  I think I learned more about pacing and managing my horse in the 6 days I rode then in the past 10 years of riding.

Virginia from Louisiana rode her TN Walker all 7 days on LD.  GO Virginia!  Jimmy R won the 5 days overall time.  Bill Wilson won overall BC for the 5 days.  I think 5 people actually completed all 5 days on the same horse in the 50.  Barney Flemming came out of retirement to vet the ride.  Bruce was the timer.  What a timer!!!  Big huge KUDOS to Wayne for puting on such a fun ride!!!!

Riding from Lake Huron to Lake Michigan, through towns, trees, sand.....it was like going into a time warp!  Loved every minute of it and can't wait to do it again!
