[RC] WEG 2006, a quick update, after the race - appalucie

For those of you wondering about the US pulls, I haven't read what Steph wrote yet.  I'm being in a hurry..
So I may repeat what she says.  Joey Mattingley and Christoph Schrock (spelling?) were pulled, Joey's horse Lari, slipped on a turn about 1/2 mile from the vet gate on the next to last loop.  He must have sprained or pulled something, as he was pretty lame from that point. Joey, being a good horseman, immmediately got off and walked in.  It seems to be a minor injury, but enough to not be able to finish the race.  Christoph's horse, I saw trot out for the initial inspection at the last vet gate  before the  last loop.  The horse looked great.  But you have to represent for a CRI before leaving on the last loop, and the vet there thought he saw something, ( I wasn't there for this, so I didn't see that trot out out).  So then, Christoph was out and he couldn't finish the race.

Kathy had a great ride, she and her horse just flew.  Meg did really well, she was so happy, I could see her wiping tears, or was that rain? from her eyes as she came into the Stadium.  Jennifer, kept plugiing along.  She finshed fairly slowly, but she finshed and her horse looked great.  Ruth, the horses' owner, was estatic.  It was a shame we didn't finish all the team, but it was a good race.  Gotta go play some more.. and yes John, I'm changing my subscription address so I can write you form my YAHOO account.  No more AOL.. Gotcha!  Much more later...
