Re: [RC] Rider Drugs - Mary Ann Spencer

There seem to always be some here that 'love' to play the devil's advocate and make something out of nothing.   Major difference between real mind altering drugs and 'comfort medications'.  The young folks will have a great opportunity to 'eat their words' as time doesn't stop for anyone and every cottonpicken injury one has will eventually remind them later on in life.  IMHO

Considering that distance riding sports are hobbie sports and that the
majority of the riders are over 30 a big portion over 50 and people are
looking for ways to 'cheat' new riders into the activity just to fill rides
and help them break even.  I don't think fussing about what the rider takes
to keep them comfortable and riding should be an issue....  We could all be
sitting in the rocking chair and you folks that still want to ride 'drug
free' would be looking for someway to finance the sport.  So long as we
aren't so impaired as to cause injury to any horse or human on the trail
with us I don't think this is an issue at all!
