There are 2 main kinds of steroids—anti-inflammatories like prednisone/cortisone and anabolic, performance enhancing drugs such as testosterone. The latter are significantly performance enhancing only w/ considerable effort on the user’s part wrt weight-lifting, body building, and other conditioning. Anabolic steroids also have a beneficial effect in treating the wasting process of AIDS.

EXACTLY....we are talking pain relievers, anti-inflammatory drugs, Not steroids....Even if we took steroids how would that help us as riders? Would we be so bulked up the horses would ride us?:)
