So what do you use the GPS for then - is there a wrist unit where you can
look at elapsed time, speed, avg speed, time of day, etc?

I have a Garmin 60CSX and I love it! I drop the unit into my 
side pommel bag, and have yet to lose the signal. Now...if I 
could just figure out how to use all the features.
