The result is that by the time high school athletics is reached only the tallest make the basketball team, only the biggest make the football team. It then gets even worse in college, and then by the professional teams it is only the tallest of the tall and the biggest of the big. Sure there are exceptions, but very few. Contrast this to sports where there are weight divisions. You do find small men wrestling in college. (there is no professional real wrestling), and you do find small and medium men as pro boxers. Ed Please note: Even though a heavy weight I would support reduction of AERC weight divisions to two or three.
