[RC] Calcium Carbonate - Barb Peck

Drin:

I only take 'pharmaceutical' grade calcium carbonate for myself- and I give the
horses 'feed' grade.
The classification grade (pharma, feed- fertilizer etc.). has to do with the
amount of impurities by weight- and of course pharaceutical grade is the most
pure.

Calcium carbonate is a compound- ... it's only the elemental calcium's used by
the body.
So by weight- you may have 1500mg of powder- but in that 1500 mg dose, there
may be only 500 mg of elemtal calcium.

The lower the grade- the more "stuff' is going to be in there... and beyond the
minerals nature nmolecular structure- probably no one can tell you what the
extra stuff is-

Just make sure you bough Feed grade and not fertilizer grade.
