I want to know what "years" are you calling the Olden Days.   Because I was there too, and I don't remember there being a lot of horse deaths.  In the SE region, we didn't have but about 4-5 rides a year.

I have to tell you that back in the olden days we had only maps and maybe if you were lucky there would be two ribbons where you were supposed to turn, we had no drag riders,you relied on the local streams for water, etc.
