[RC] calcium carbonate - Barb Peck

You should be able to by feed grade calcium carbonate (and magnesium oxide,
which IMO should be fed
along with it).

Feed grade is much cheaper than pharmaceutical grade powders (I take the pharma
grade).

As far as the dose goes - you should probably look at what's in the feed he's
already getting to know exactly how much to give.

But just to give you and estimate- my horses get 8 grams of magnesium oxide and
12 grams of calcium carbonate evry other day. (I know my hay and grass is
magnesium deficient) You may have to borrow a hypothecary scale to weight it
out -
You might want to look at Uckele's site (www.uckele.com) or just have your
local feed store order from their supplier.
