It would be a pity to waste such a good resource as leather.  It's a beautiful medium to work with, as is wood.  Making cowhide into leather is much better than throwing it into a landfill.  And leather has been used in history for thousands of years.  I like it, but I prefer beta biothane because it does not require the effort to keep clean and usable.  I definitely prefer leather for saddles, however.

I'm so glad that they've invented other products like Biothaine and Beta products.  There's something about using dead cow skin on your horse that is just not appealing to me.
