[RC] Horse management in excessive heat - Suzanne Boyd

Rhonda, have you ever tried offering loose salt? I keep a pan of loose salt inside my barn, out of the weather, and my guys all prefer that over the salt block that I also provide(because I'm anal!) Actually, I've had the same salt block for about 3 years, they don't use it much. I've been doing this for years, and they eat it year-round, but I really notice them eating it in the hot, humid months. Actually, I've had the same salt block for about 3 years, they don't use it much. I also keep a pan of Buckeye Grass Plus minerals for them, and they go through about a pound a day(4 horses)

Suzanne(in hot/humid Ohio)
