[RC] horse size - Alice Yovich

I too came from a background of Dressage and English. My warmbloods I had
before my arab were over 16.2. I've gotten larger over the years and my
horses have gotten smaller. I'm 5'4" and weigh 209, but I've been as high
and 224 (goign to be under 200 soon though!) You have to do w hat is right
for you. You'll know if your h orse is happy. Both of my distance horses
(one of whom is a Shagya mare I also use for dressage) are 15 hh.

Subject: RE: [RC] [RC] Horse size?

Ok, I'm a newbie here, I've never even rode 10 miles in one day lol =
let alone 50. I have been riding jumpers and dressage for the past 10 =
years and want to know what size horse should I have? I just bought a =
14.3 arab mare and I'm afraid she's too small. I'm 5'4 and 170lbs. =
Naturally all of my english friends think she's WAY too small for me and =
that I'm too heavy for her (which by the way I have started working out =
and am working on shrinking, 6lbs gone, 36 more to go lol). I ride in a =
synthetic thorowgood endurance saddle that weighs less than 13lbs. She =
is a petite little thing, but I love the way she rides, and her quirky, =
spooky, grumpy personality.
