Re: [RC] Trailer Door Holders - Diane Trefethen

Does anyone know where a person can pick up some sort of qizmo to hold your horse trailer door open while loading or unloading horses and saddles ? My trailer has the metal piece on the door that pushes into the rubber holder and it doesn't work for nothing and I am tired of getting slammed with the doors while doing things . Thanks for any help you have .

THE LIST should include, in addition to duct tape and WD-40, bungee cords. My straight load, 2-horse bumper-pull tack doors and manger doors will close on you in a heart beat. To keep them open, I use 2 bungee cords. They hook together easily and quickly, are out of the way at the front of the trailer and I can groom and tack up without having to open my tack compartment over and over or getting hit in the back while getting something out. Likewise, they simplify cleaning out the mangers after a ride. There is always SOME way to attach them somewhere on the trailer. For the rear doors, 2 bungees should reach the escape door, or hub cap or fender. You don't leave them for any length of time - only long enough to do whatever chore you are faced with.
