Re: [RC] question for those riding in leather saddles - Laney HumphreyRegular care with quality cleaning and reconditioning products should keep your saddle wet sponge proof. My leather saddle got thoroughly soaked by being ridden in for 8 hours in the pouring rain. It looked fairly sad the next day but I had conditioned it a couple of months before and did so again when it was dry. Looks like new!Laney Marta Kozlowska wrote: after riding in a synthetic saddle for 6 years, i just got a new leather saddle. so today i was happily day dreaming about doing a nice long ride on sunday and planning on attaching the sponge to the saddle when i realized that this wet sponge will be bouncing all around my new, beautiful leather saddle!!! then i thought about the fact that there are many distance riders using leather saddles and sponges. so what's the trick? does regular care of a saddle prevent any permanent damage or do i just have resign myself to inevitable? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
