re: [RC] rib out of place - Sunnyland

The chiro. suggested that same exercise- to gently stretch the front leg forward and then to fold it back. Our vet said that "a rib out of place" is not uncommon. I didn't find much in the way of reading material on the internet, though. Thanks for input! Kathleen

An equine body worker I know looked at my friend's horse and diagnosed his issue as having the first rib out of place. He carefully tugged on the horse's leg; the horse looked surprised but was immediately much happier. Some chiros and other body workers talk about ribs being displaced, others don't seem to have heard of it or don't believe it. Who knows?! Laney

OK I gotcha, yes, in my experience he's correct. I can't recommend anything
besides his suggestions, other than perhaps acupuncture. I have found for both
myself and my horse that if the adjustment is extreme, acupuncture can help it
stay in place longer. Perhaps because it relaxes the muscles around the joint.

musclo-skeletal conditions that chiropractic helps, the body tends to want
to revert to the former position. Kathleen
