Of course that was also before I got my reflective vest, reflective leg wraps. This was also before those LED flashing lights were available.

I'm not sure who was in more danger from cars her or me. In our defence, WI rural roads do have nice wide shoulders and grader ditches. It is very rare for even the worst DUI to forget to turn his headlights on, so we both probably believed that we would take refuge off of the road when the occasional car came by.
