[RC] Universal Micro-chip reader - rides2far

There's an article in this week's Newsweek that in July Bayer HealthCare
is unveiling a universal scanner that can read all brands of microchips.
It said they're already shipping 20,000 free ones to shelters nationwide.
Considering that they want us to start using these thing in the next
year or so http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,70716-0.html this is
welcome news to me. When the guy came to speak to a seminar I was at he'd
said that everyone would be reponsible for owning a reader for their
brand. Maybe this will make it more likely that we put the readers in the
hands of enforcement agents. No mention of the cost.
