[RC] CSHA Mariposa "Run For The Gold" - Richard Theodore

MARIPOSA "RUN FOR THE GOLD" ENDURANCE RIDE
JUNE 17, 2006

The Mariposa 25 and 50 miler, what has been described as one of California's
most picturesque rides in scheduled to "run for the gold" on Saturday, June
17th.

The ride will follow trails and fire break roads along ranches and U.S.
Forestry land heavy with growths of pine and cedar in the lovely high
country of the southern Sierra Nevada range at Jerseydale in Mariposa
County.  The trail on the 50 miler has been rerouted to include more riding
on trail and less fire roads.
Overnight camping will be on the Circle 9 Ranch, a historic working ranch in
Jerseydale.

Back by popular demand this ride will again be run under the sanctions of
AERC (American Endurance Ride Conference, headquartered in Auburn
California) with the same experienced personnel that had proven to be so
successful in the past history of this ride. New for this year, the
California State Horsemen's Association Endurance Program is also sponsoring
the ride.  Profits will be used to purchase awards for the CSHA Year-end
Endurance Awards and will be presented at the AERC Convention held in Reno
2007.

Riders will be required to check in Friday afternoon, June 16th between 12
and 9 PM to have their horses vet checked and assigned numbers.  Entries to
be limited to 150 riders.

The Mariposa County 4-H Equine Project will be hosting a silent auction with
proceeds allowing them to attend the Grand Nationals Cow Palace in San
Francisco in early 2007.

A feature of the ride once again will be the awards banquet dinner, covered
by the entry fee for riders with guest tickets available for others.  This
function will close out the ride with awards presentation which will include
1st in each category, Top ten and Best overall condition.  All competitors
completing the ride will receive choice of a buckle or commemorative wine
glasses.
